Disc Separator SC35-06-177 Applications
This centrifuge has been designed for the clarification of beverages. With self-cleaning bowl ejection system, this machine is suitable particularly for applications where the prime target is high yield. High solid contents likewise present no problem. The feed and discharge are in a closed system. The centripetal pump in the discharge generates adequate pressure to convey the product, for example, into the storage tank. The feed and discharge are rated to suit the respective application. The machine is driven by a 3-phase AC motor. Power is transferred to the bowl spindle via a clutch and worm wheel gear. All product-contacting parts are made of stainless steel; the gaskets conform to the requirements of food operations.

Operating principles of the Disc Separator SC35-06-177
The product enters the bowl via the inlet and is clarified in the disc stack. Centripetal pump then conveys the clarified liquid under pressure to outlet, where it is discharged without foam. The separated solids collect in sediment holding space and are ejected periodically via ports. Operating water is used only during the actual process of ejection.

The “Hydrostop” system for controlled partial ejections
When product is processed, only partial solids ejections are performed.
The solids ejection is initiated by the control unit.
In the case of partial solids ejection, the hydraulically operated sliding piston must be opened within as short a time as possible so as to ensure that the ejection ports are opened wide enough to allow unimpeded solids ejection.
The sliding piston is in closed position when the closing chamber is full. When the annular valve is hydraulically opened, the closing water flows out of the closing chamber into the storage chamber. When the storage chamber is full, the flow of liquid from the closing chamber automatically stops although the annular valve is still open. The bowl then opens and the solids are discharged instantaneously through ports. The amount of solids ejected depends on the liquid level in the storage chamber (controlled partial ejection). The amount of solids ejected can be precedented by partially filling the storage chamber via hole before the ejection is initiated. During the ejection process the closing water via valve. The annular valve then close. The storage chamber drains through drain nozzle. In the case of solids which are difficult to eject, a longer ejection cycle is initiated after several partial ejections which has the effect to flushing out the remaining solids while the product feed is still open.

Total solids ejection sequence during CIP
During the chemical cleaning process total ejections are initiated either manually or automatically at the control unit by means of an external CIP control unit.
For total solids ejection the closing chamber is emptied via the annular valve and the nozzle by the addition of opening water. The sliding piston remains open until the whole bowl contents have been ejected. The sliding piston is then closed by supplying closing water.
